A symbol of victory, the laurel wreath was worn by ancient Roman commanders as an indication of their success in battle. The Empress print is a Louis XIII style carved cartouche depicting a confident and triumphant classical Roman woman wearing a laurel wreath surrounded by banners and flowers.
